At nearby Makaha Beach Park there is the
international surfing competition, and in the area of Waianae Hawaii youll find
secluded coves that offer gentle waters for swimming, or just relaxing in an out of the
way place.
There are also some great sightseeing opportunities in the area,
including Kaneaki Heiau. This 17th century temple was built as a shrine to the
God Lono. While you are in the area, you may want to pay a visit to the home of Nanaue, a
son of the shark God, located in a 450-foot cavern known as Kaneana Cave.
In Waianae Hawaii youll find plenty
of shops that offer Hawaiian souvenirs, as well as some delicious dinning options. In
addition, there are also golfing opportunities at the Waianae golf course.
Want to avoid the crowds in Honolulu, check out Waianae, one of
Hawaiis secret hideaways.
